GENERAL CONFERENCE TRADITION

Every 6 months, as General Conference rolls around, I have a goal to redo our 72 hour kits. We take out the old food and the kids get to eat it and we redo the clothing (that is already way too small) and replace everything. I have to confess, it doesn't always get done, but I do try.

I have found a few good sites that give good ideas about 72 hour kits. If you don't have yours done, I challenge you to do them. It really isn't too bad. Most things we have laying around the house anyway, and all you have to do it put it together. It is a great way to spend your Saturday, listening to Conference and putting everything together. It will give you peace of mind. I promise!

Also, during conference, I am always looking for ways to keep my children interested in watching and learning from the meetings. Here are some things I have found...

I found this idea on someone's blog, and she found it on someone else's blog... etc, etc... I don't know if I could do this one. My husband would think it too much, but I do like some of the ideas in it.

This is a site with fun activities and links you can use to make booklets for kids.

I also have a good packet I can email to you if you want it. Just let me know. Hope you all have an inspiring and fun Conference Weekend!

GREAT idea with the 72 hour kit! I was just looking at mine the other day (not updated since...oh...2000 or so) Needless to say if I ever needed to use it, that could be disasterous...3 of my kids would be in big trouble since they weren't even around when I did it the first time! :) Thanks for the links for the ideas too! Wahoo...I love conference, and it will be even more enjoyable now! Thanks~
