CHRISTMAS CARD 2013

We didn't get a family picture taken this year since two of our members are far away, so I did a collage card at Shutterfly. I love the way it turned out, but it is definitely too expensive to do one there every year.

PINTEREST POST #2

I have to admit that my love of Pinterest is dying. I still check it sometimes, but I don't pin nearly as much. And the fact that I have had to report porn three times does not endear me to the site.

However, there are a couple things I found recently and used. I just made this card for my mother-in-law on Mother's Day Sunday. It turned out super cute and was fun.

But this chicken shredding technique is by far my favorite new Pinterest item. 

This website said you could cook your chicken and then put it in your Kitchen Aid to shred it. I just had to try it (I hate shredding chicken with forks. It takes forever). Well, low and behold, it works like a charm! I didn't have a cover to put over my bowl, so I just used a dish towel and it worked beautifully! Yay! Time saved!! My fajita meat was gorgeous! Try it, you'll like it!

CARDS FOR CHRISTMAS

Here they are! The official 2011 Christmas cards of the Gordon family. Everyone knows I can't do just one. Actually, this year it wasn't my fault.

When I brought these home, D complained and said they were way too boring (I like to think of them as traditional, but I'm just the mom), so I made up the others at his request. I am not sure why he cares. He doesn't send them to his friends anyway.

I do have to admit that these tell a lot more about our family than do the others, but the others are a bit more formal and there are pros and cons to each style. Personally, I like both.

So, if you normally get a card from us, it will be a gamble to see which ones turn up in your mail box... Wait for it...!

LOVE IS IN THE AIR

I am always on the lookout for cute homemade valentine ideas and then I usually end up giving in to my kids and buying them. Well this year will be different! I am going to make some and they will be way better than the GI Joe or Tinkerbell ones at Wal-Mart! So there! Here are some of my ideas..

These butterflies are second in line. I am just not sure how the teachers will feel about me giving out gum...

LOVE'S DAY

That's what my youngest calls Valentine's Day. I love it. She's so darn cute....

Anyway, I thought I would share some cute Valentine card ideas I've found. I really like making cards. It is a great creative outlet.

This is one I made my husband about 4 years ago. I wrote 50 things I love Y about him on those little cards and put them in pockets. The message says, "How do I love thee, Let me count the ways..."

This is a page from the book I made him last year. I took self-portraits of the mentioned body parts and some were a little hard to do alone, but it worked out okay. The poem goes: "Take my lips, my ears, my eyes, my 2 big feet (excuse the size), my hands, my face, just pick your part. You might as well, you've got my heart." Y

This is a card from Scrapbooks Etc. I am thinking about making him this year. Y
