CHURCH-Y STUFF

I've been so busy with the remodel lately I haven't had time to do much on Photoshop and Illustrator and I really miss it. I'm not sure why I think it's so fun, but I do. Here are a couple of things I've made for Primary and also for my son on his mission.

This next thing is something I found on Printerest and thought I'd send to Elder Gordon. A list of 101 important Missionary Scriptures that testify of the different principles of the Gospel. It is the perfect size to fit in a 5 X 7 set of scriptures.

EARLY BIRTHDAY WISHES

Sister S was down for the long weekend and we loved having her. Awesome A was in St. George with his friends, so we didn't see him at all. It is Sister S's birthday this coming week, so we celebrated early with her. She kept walking around singing, 'nobody likes you when you're 23,' all weekend. (From a Green Day song). I sure like her lots though.
Cinnamon rolls were her treat of choice. A girl after my own heart!
After we ate treats, we played a couple heated games of Blokus. I'm not sure why, but we were all feeling a little competitive and not very nice to each other. It was still fun though! Gosh I love my family!
Smart aleck kids are the best!

GOODBYE TO 2013

New Years Eve is by far my least favorite holiday. I hate staying up late (unless I am snuggled up in bed reading a good book), so that is definitely the reason why.
Kids' table. They all love orange soda.
We went up to the Barn like we always do for New Years Eve and had pizza and treats.
Cousin K and Awesome A had a good time.
For some reason we really got into the game Headbanz this year. Can I just say that I am really good at it? I kicked everybody's butt when I played. (It's rare that I ever win games -esp. when Big C is playing, so I have to brag when I can).
Headbanz rocks!
Uncle C also brought up his Playstation 2 up, so we played Guitar Hero too. By then I was ready to be in bed and Princess P was actually in tears she wanted to go to bed so bad. I had taken her to the doctor and she was on her way to Pneumonia, so she was NOT feeling great.
What a rocking group of New Years Eve-ers! (haha)
Uncle C brought some awesome fireworks too, so we set those off at about 11:30 pm and then we called it quits. I was in bed by midnight, but just barely.

REAL FANS

Little C wanted to go to a Real Salt Lake game and I was happy to comply because I do love soccer. Those of us that played soccer this season got vouchers for free tickets, so we only had to pay for 3 extras.
This is one amazing stadium! (I'm the only one who'd been to it before- for the Journey concert). We didn't have 'great' seats, but they were still very good. We got to see all the action and the goal they scored was right there in front of us!

Here we are before the game started. We all got a bobble head doll of the goalie, Nick Rimando because we were some of the first thousand inside the stadium.

Here's Big C and Princess P. She didn't want to go, but had a blast when we got there.

RSL was playing Portland and there was one VERY rowdy group of them! They started flares and ended up being escorted out by security. It was all very entertaining and we had a great time! If we lived closer, I'd have season tickets!!

SOCCER & RED ROVER

We went to Little C's game tonight and were very entertained. The teams were both local and there were quite a few of his friends on the opposing side.

Here is Little C (in gray) up in the air.

Here he is about to score a goal. The final score was 3 to 3. They were very evenly matched. I guess they can all remain friends.

On the side lines another match was being held. All the little sisters got together and played a spontaneous game of Red Rover. They were SO cute!

Here is Princess P in pink. She had a ball! (ha ha, soccer pun).

SOCCER STARS

I am coaching Princess P's soccer team this year (as I've mentioned before) and it has actually been fun. She is much more aggressive and pays way more attention to the game than I thought she would.

I am proud of her. We are purple and she likes that part too.

Little C is an awesome player again this year too. He played against one of his best friends last night and won. They are still friends, don't worry.

He actually scored two goals, but neither counted because the refs had called some sort of penalty right before. Poor guy. I keep telling him he'll get one eventually. He sure loves this game!

STRATEGY FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

Last night S introduced us to a very fun new game her roommates are obsessed with. It is called Blokus. The best thing about it is that everyone in our family is old enough to play. We have a tendency to like games that are too hard for our smaller kids, so that is a big bonus.

I actually won
the second time I played. S was very unhappy because she is used to winning. Heh heh heh (villainous laugh). She said I won because I made her be yellow- blue is the only color she'd ever played with, but I think it is my superior brain power!

FORGERY

I don't remember a time when I didn't love art and I grew up playing this game.
I'm not sure which love fed off of which, but it was a vicious cycle. I still love playing the game (I bought one on ebay because they don't make it anymore) and seeing all the works of art that are familiar either because I have studied and taught about them or just because I remember them from the game...

In the game of Masterpiece you buy and sell art. Some of the paintings are worth in the millions and some are not, but worst of all are the FORGERIES! That means you bought a painting that is a FAKE!

Here is a forgery we have at our house. My 16 year old son was in art this year and painted his own version of Starry Night by Van Gogh. I love it and am so impressed with his work! Maybe someday he'll be making millions off his own paintings and not creating forgeries...

GAME TIME

We had such a fun Sunday afternoon! We played board games inside with the whole family (that doesn't happen much anymore) since it was so cold outside (yes, it was snowing AGAIN!). These are two of our favorites. If you haven't played them, I highly recommend you do so soon!
This is such a classic. I grew up playing this with my 'Logan cousins.' It is so fun, and gets pretty wild! But that's the best part!

This is for a bit older group, but fun nevertheless. A great way to teach your kids about geography. There are also Africa, United States and Asia versions, but this is my favorite (probably because I've always wanted to go to Europe so bad).

Try 'em, you'll like 'em!
