COLORFUL COLORADO

We had another invite to my BIL's cabin by Dolores, Colorado again this year for Labor Day. We had such a great time last year and the older kids were thrilled to be able to go this time.

Colorado scenery is the best! This is a hike we went on and it was gorgeous!

We hiked to Geyser Springs and it was a little stinky, but beautiful!

One night the kids gathered around the kitchen table and read Sister S's books in different accents. It was hilarious!

At bedtime, the boys would gather round the computer and watch The Walking Dead and the girls would go read.

Big C went fishing again this year and let Princess P catch the fish this year.  

We went to church in Cortez again and some of the kids forgot clothing items...

We went to Telluride again and the boys biked up to Bridal Veil Falls again.

What a view! Is it redundant to say how beautiful this country is again? Too bad. I said it.

The free gondolas are so nice! I love to ride in them and see the scenery and they haul the boys and their bikes to the top.

COLORFUL COLORADO

We got invited to my brother-in-law's cabin for the long weekend. It was in a BEAUTIFUL location, right by Dolores, Colorado and we had a wonderful time!

Then we went into Telluride.

We rode the free gondolas.

The boys took their bikes and rode the trails on the resort.

So did the British flag on the street. It was the Telluride Film Festival.

We went to church in Cortez.

We went on a big hike to see some waterfalls. What a beautiful place!

SATURDAY OVERLOAD

Our ward had an all morning combined ward party Saturday. The bike race and fun run started bright and early at 8:30 am. Our family did the bike race (only 3 miles).

After the bike and running races there were quite a few other races: three-legged, sack race, book race, etc. Each race had different age categories, so it was fair to everyone. Everyone had a great time and there was lots of participation!

Big C and I did not place in the three-legged race, but we had fun!

After the races were over, there was a baked potato bar for lunch, but we left to go eat lunch at home. Big C said that Cottonwood Creek was running, so Princess P and I drove over the mountain with him, so he could kayak.

He took a pretty nasty swim (came out of his boat). I can't even remember the last time he swam, but he got a little banged up and ended up just hanging out with Princess P and I who were drawing and painting by the river.

They went for a father/daughter hike by the river and found some fishing line with a lure still on it. They tied the line to a stick and Princess P did some 'fishing.'

We even stopped on the way home on the mountain so she could fish a bit. She's already telling 'fish stories' about how she caught a huge fish and threw it back, we just didn't see it. I think she's got the makings of a great fisherwoman!
