My kids love to go to Green River. It is not the town which attracts them, it is Swayze's Beach. Since we live hundreds of miles from the nearest ocean, this is the closest to a beach-experience that they ever get. They could dig holes and build sand castles all day, never mind that we go to Green River to run the river.
The weather for the Memorial Day weekend, in case no one noticed, was not great. There were people trapped by flash floods and washed out roads in Gray's Canyon (where we run the Green) on Saturday. But of course, we went anyway. The river was big and fun and we were able to get in a run before the huge downpour. I don't think we have ever packed up so fast in our lives. They had rivers for streets in Green River by the time we were driving home.
The most memorable part for our boys, however, took place in Salina on the drive home. They saw a Lamborghini at a gas station and just had to take photos. It was a pretty cool car.

Sheesh, how long was that Lambrogini parked there? It was there when we drove past as well. A line of spectators had formed to get a picture with it. Too funny. It felt a little like Disneyland.
It was a great weekend. Thanks for hanging out with us.
