SKULLS AND SQUASH

I haven't posted art lately because I haven't done much. I took drawing class off to hang with my kiddos during their spring break. When I came back to class yesterday, they were doing prepared grounds.
It is layers and layers of acrylic paint on paper. Then you do a charcoal (black and white) drawing on it. The grounds are very fun to do: dripping paint and water, rubbing it off before it is completely dry, choosing different colors... and then putting on more layers. The possibilities are endless!
For the light values we used sand paper to rub off down to the lighter layers. These are my studies, I think today we will be doing a large, final one.
