A DAY ON THE MOUNTAIN

Yesterday we spent time on the mountain with the Gordon side of the family. Big C's brother and family came down from Idaho for a visit. We don't get to see them very often, so it was fun to get reacquainted with each other.

The Gordons are an active bunch and yesterday we stayed very busy! Big C set up a zip line for the little kids ('big kids' were too close to the ground for it to work very well). Some of them had a great time on that. Then, Uncle C got out his .44 pistol and let everyone do some target shooting.
Little C shooting the pistol.
We also ate a yummy, huge breakfast and a wonderful dutch oven lunch together up there.
It was beautiful weather for the most part until about 2:30. It was a good thing we had a tarp and a shelter. It rained really hard for about 30 minutes and then the sun came right back out and it was beautiful again. Since we need the rain really bad, no one complained a bit.
We ate our dutch oven lunch under the shelters.
Little C also found a little water snake that all the kids had a great time checking out.
Big C lets Little Miss C pet the snake. She would have grabbed it if we'd let her...
A decided he needed to brush up on his lumberjack skills, so he chopped down an old dead tree.

It was a fun day with lots of cousins and visiting in the great outdoors- exactly the type of day
the Gordon family is most famous for.
