I have been indexing for a few months now and am loving it! If you haven't given it a try, you should do it. I do have to warn you, however, that it is a bit addicting...
Basically, indexing is taking old, written records and making them digital and easy for people to find. I love looking at the old handwriting and reading the old names. It is really fascinating for me.
