SKYLINE DRIVE

Big C decided that we needed more time on Skyline Drive this summer. The flowers were gorgeous when we were up there on Pioneer Day so I agreed. We took off after work on Friday and biked out Skyline Drive for about 10 miles and then set up camp. Princess P wasn't too happy about it at first, but we took it easy and really had a lot of fun. The altitude is what makes it hard it is all between 9,000 and 10,000 ft. and there's not much oxygen up there.

Our camp site was beautiful. We roasted marshmallows and made s'mores while we watched a huge lightning storm over to the east and a gorgeous sun set to the west. What more could you want? We didn't get a drop of rain (just wind).
Our camp fire right up on top. A small family with Little C at scout camp.
Neither my camera or I are capable of taking a photo of the lightning, but here's the beautiful sunset off to the west.
Skyline sunset.
The next day we ate dry cereal (because someone forgot the milk, ahem...) and granola bars for breakfast. We rode about 15 more miles and then headed down Spring City Canyon after lunch. It was a very picturesque trip.
