AIRPORT DROP-OFF

Our second missionary is officially on his way! This was a whole different situation than our first, however. The fact that he went foreign meant lots more hoops to jump through, but we jumped 'em and his Visa came in plenty of time (8 days to spare).

Another difference was that D went to the MTC in England, not Provo like S did, so we got to help him check in at the airport and wait with him for a while. I pondered what these missionaries could possibly be bringing in three huge suitcases! D had one large one, a carry-on and a backpack and none of them were crammed full. Maybe he'll regret it, but I think he'll be thankful and just buy the things he needs out there.

We met and visited with other Elders headed to England and their families. It was fun to meet them and compare all the situations. D sent me an email this morning that they ended up with more than 20 Elders and 5 Sisters by the time they got to England.

We took photos and shot the breeze for a hour or so, unlike with S, who we dumped off in all of 5 minutes. I liked it so much better. There were still tears, don't get me wrong, but I didn't feel rushed and that was nice for a Mom, not quite so traumatic.

I just couldn't be more proud. He is such an amazing young man. I know he will do a great job and be taken care of by my Heavenly Father. I don't think I could send him away like this if I didn't know those things. He couldn't wait to get going! I am blessed!
